The fully fenced Play Wood is 2.5 acres in size and is an ideal place for children to freely explore the woodland environment. A whole day visit is usually structured so that the children have ‘free play’ in the wood after lunch. This time is just as important as the structured ‘educational’ activities in the morning. Group leaders have a chance to observe individuals within their group in this unique environment.
The Play Wood is an ideal location for Forest School. Groups may wish to come to the farm to use the wood for a Forest School session, rather than have the whole farm experience. Some groups may wish to bring their own Forest School leader or alternatively Emma works with a Level 3 Qualified Forest School Leader who can run sessions within the wood.
